BHAJAN PROCEDURE

Step Nine: Recite The Gayatari Mantra Nine Times:

Aum......................

Bhur Bhuvah Suvaha

Tat Savitur Varenyam

Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi

Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayaat

The Gayatri Mantra is considered as having three parts: Praise, Meditation and Prayer. In the Gayatri Mantra, the unity of body, mind and soul is depicted in the first line as Bhur Bhuvah Suvaha. The next line Tat Savitur Varenyam means: the most excellent Light of that adorable sun. And Dheeyo Yo Nah Prachodayaat means let the effulgence of the Divine dispel the darkness of ignorance.

So, when the Mantra is put together is sounds like:

O! Divine Mother, our hearts are filled with darkness. Please make this darkness distant from us and promote Illumination within us.

Gayatri Mantra is the Universal Prayer enshrined in the Vedas, the most ancient scriptures of man. It is addressed too the immanent and transcendent Divine. Gayatri Mantra will protect your body, make your intellect shine and improve your power of speech. Chant it before taking your food. This Gayatri Mantra has the subtle power of removing evil tendencies and implanting virtuous habits. It promotes the acquisition of Divine Power. It saves and heals. It protects and promotes spiritual progress. Gayatri Mantra is hailed as the Mother of all Vedas (Mantras).

How powerful is this Gayatri Mantra if recited correctly and faithfully?

Your two eyes cannot reveal to you the magnificence and the majesty of the realm of the Spirit. They are focused towards the objective world and its transient attractions. So, the Gayatri Mantra has given to you as a third eye to enable you to have that inner vision by which you may realise God.
